How to breed a target Pal in four steps

Does a better cake change the child species?
The official 1.0 descriptions attach cake effects to egg count, stats, mutation likelihood, or passive inheritance—not to choosing a different normal species result.
Why are exact mutation odds not shown?
The official changelog does not publish exact rates, and the pinned PalCalc snapshot does not contain cake probability coefficients. The site labels that limit instead of guessing.
